Our Projects
We run a variety of projects working with adults and children, on both one-to-one and group bases, across Cambridge.

DBS Services
We offer DBS services for organisations and employers who work with vulnerable groups.
Everyone has their own reason for volunteering…
…whether it’s wanting to make a difference, wanting a challenge, or just wanting to try something new. At Cambridge volunteering can be a great escape from ‘the bubble’, something to look forward to by week 5!
Volunteering can be a flexible addition to your week and it needn’t consume your whole life. Working on one of our projects is much less commitment than many other sports and societies such as rowing or acting. If you’re still worried we have one-off events such as busking, gardening, refereeing competitions, theatre workshops, summer fun days and dressing up as Santa for Christmas!
For the career-minded, volunteering is also a great way to demonstrate your motivation and willingness to give back to the community. Moreover, our committee positions (general member, treasurer, project leader) represent more than just a line on your CV: the experience you will have can become the basis of an application for an internship or vacation scheme.
Whatever your reasons for volunteering are, we’ll try our best to make sure you have as rewarding an experience as possible.
Accessibility and Equality
Student Community Action is an organisation which values diversity and inclusion at its heart. We actively encourage applications from volunteers of any gender identity, race, ability, religion, or nationality. If you have any questions or concerns, or ways that we could support you better, then please do get in touch!
